Four planned steps

This describes the planned service, not an active booking or account service today.

  1. Your staff book the ride.

Bookers enter the patient's name and mobile number (or, for a patient without a mobile phone, a caregiver's or family member's), the pickup, the drop-off, the time and any equipment the patient will bring. Patients don't need the LulaRoost app; they get ride texts.

  2. A screened driver picks up.

The driver confirms the patient's PIN, the last 4 digits of the mobile number on the booking, before the ride starts.

  3. The patient rides.

One companion rides along at no extra charge.

  4. Your organization pays.

Each ride is charged to the account's card, or approved organizations get a monthly invoice.

What to know

Limits for the planned service

  • Transportation only. Drivers aren't medical professionals, don't provide medical care, and don't lift or carry riders.
  • Not for emergencies. For an emergency, call 911.
  • Patients get in and out of the car on their own, or with help from a companion who rides along.
  • Equipment such as a folding wheelchair, a walker or portable oxygen must fit safely in the car. There's no wait-time charge on Health rides that list equipment.
  • LulaRoost doesn't offer wheelchair-accessible vehicles in Dothan yet. For a rider who needs one, contact the Wiregrass Transit Authority.
  • LulaRoost isn't a Medicaid transportation provider and doesn't bill insurance. The organization pays for every ride it books.

Share only what a ride needs

Bookers enter only what a ride needs: the patient's name, a mobile number for ride texts, pickup, drop-off, time and equipment. Never enter a diagnosis or the reason for a visit. For HIPAA covered entities and business associates, a Business Associate Addendum is part of the agreement.

Future Health rides

Review pricing before enrollment

Health bookings are not open. The Business and Health Account Agreement describes a $2.00 service fee per completed Health ride. Review the applicable Ride Terms and pricing effective October 15, 2026 before opening an account; account enrollment and rides are not open yet.

Safety

Safety comes first

Before service opens, LulaRoost drivers must meet the background-check, driving-record and vehicle-inspection requirements. When rides begin, drivers must follow our Zero Tolerance Policy and ongoing screening requirements.
